To those who know something about Asthma, how can I stop chest tightness?
I hate having chest tightness because sometimes it feels like I am gonna have a heart attack and feels like it's harder to breathe. I developed asthma as a baby. I had my asthma under control up until six months ago when there was this big fire in this neighboring town that broke out. I have been taking my asthma and allergy medicines for about a month now. I take Advair, Ceterizine, and Montelukast for my asthma and allergies. I also have predisone only for emergencies. My peak flow meter reads really good in the green range. It is usually from 300-330. At night, sometimes it drops to 280-300, but it's still barely above the green range. My oxygen is always from 98-100 when I go to the doctor, so they won't do anything for me. My doctor doesn't want me to take my inhaler or breathing treatment unless it's an emergency because taking them too much can have side effects. The only symptom I am having though is chest tightness. I am not near any triggers I can think of, and I am not the only one going through this in my town. My town is actually in the top 10 best places in the U.S. for asthma sufferers, so it is surprising me. I got this fact from several different studies and news articles. I've had about 15 other asthma sufferers I've talked to that have said this year has been worse than previous years, and they are having the same problems I am and sometimes they think they're dying. Any tips on how to deal with this, or what is causing it?
