Pre register for the hospital??

I recently went to the doctor and he didn’t say anything to me, but on my papers it said I should pre register with the hospital. I feel so dumb but I don’t even know what that means or where to began? Did you ladies already do this? TIA

I had to with my first child. They just want to have everything prepared for you when you come in to have the baby so they wouldn't have to harass you with signing a bunch of papers and you can focus on your delivery.  They will give you a tour too to make you more comfortable with everything.

With me. (When my dr told me to around 26 weeks) I went to my hospitals web site and printed off the papers to pre-register, filled them out and dropped them off at L&D. Its easier if you pre-register because when you go to the hospital to have baby it saves a lot of time for you and the nurses to register.

I did with my first, and went to sign consents for epidural and c section just in case. Met with anesthesiologist. It was all really handy. I'll ask about it at my next appointment because the last thing I want to do when I roll up in labor is sign a bunch of shit. We are delivering in different part of state this time. Call the hospital and they'll set up an appointment for you to go over paperwork, some might have you do like I did and meet with anesthesiologist so everything is done and if you choose epidural you don't have to waste time with doing that in the moment.

With my first I just walked in the hospital 😂😂 but my hospital was connected to my ob . I never knew about a pre register

My doctor does this as well. You meet with someone who will go over tons of stuff with you and have you sign paperwork. It took us about an hour, that way you’re not in labor trying to do paperwork. We scheduled a hospital tour as well that day.

You go to the hospital and say I need to pre register for my delivery, they have you fill out a ton of paperwork and take your insurance, super easy. That way when it’s one to have baby all you have to do it go to the labor and delivery floor instead of having to register first.
