How important is it to consummate your marriage?

How important is it to consummate your marriage? Do you consider consummation an important 'ritual' of the marriage ceremony? Personally, I do and it feels such a hot thing lol. How soon after your marriage did you consummate it?

The Bible teaches that sex is part of a normal, healthy, intimate marriage and not to withhold sex from your spouse.

Pretty important I'd say. God created sex for that purpose. We got married in the morning and had sex that evening.

I think most people consummate that very day. I did. It’s important but it’s fine to take your time. The first night I’d suggest taking it slow and just getting to know each others bodies before just getting right into intercourse. That’ll help you both feel more comfortable but will also help ensure that you are lubricated down there which will also make the experience more comfortable and pleasurable for you both.

Sex was made for marriage and is part of a normal healthy relationship with your husband. That being said, you don’t have to have sex on your wedding night, especially if you’re one of those couples who were very conservative with your physical contact before you were married. Give yourselves time to get aquanted  with each other’s bodies and comfort levels. Figure out what works for you. That’s what your honeymoon is for
