Giving baby rice cereal / baby cereal ?

Is it true that you can start giving your baby , baby cereal at 4 months ?

Babies shoukd eat before 6 mos, their tummies aren't developed enough. Baby cereal doesn't have any real nutrition. You'd be better off to start on some veggies but I would definitely wait.

Solids too soon (before 6mo) can be problematic bc their intestines aren't yet "sealed" off, so solids can pass through into their bloodstream directly. Some say this is what links formula with autism. Not saying it causes autism, but the idea that it can have long term harmful effects.

With my first it was earlier than 4 months. Baby was a fast grower. Born at 8.5 then 12lbs at one month.  She was teething early too. Dr said go ahead and she loved it.

ALL doctors recommend something different. My dr says 4 months is fine to start solids, and they also recommended rice cereal in all of his bottles due to his bad reflux.

It used to be 4 months....it's now been moved to 6 months.
