If you and your partner had only ever been with each other, and you’ve been together for 10 years, would you consider letting each other be with another person sexually for one time only just for the experience? Why or why not?

Me and my significant other are very happy with one another. We have been together since our junior year in high school, have two babies and a life together. 
We were talking the other day, and both of us feel like we are at the point in our relationship where we would trust the other to have a one time experience with someone new. Of course someone who’s clean, and who we both trust. Would you do it? Why or why not?

I personally would not. It may sound like a good idea, but I think when it comes down to it, it would make someone feel extremely insecure and guilty. Sex with a significant other is designed to just be with each other, to be an intimate connection, and having sex with someone else while in a committed relationship could add the intimacy you two had before. I’ve only been with my husband and I’m cool with that! ... but that’s just me, every relationship is different!

I wouldn’t do it because what I had with my partner would already be established. Why open up the door for dissatisfaction, stds, an accidental pregnancy, or emotional ties to another individual outside of a relationship? How would that affect the children if a fall out between the two of us happened? Sex is easy to get, but a bond that’s worth working for is not. Once this deed was done it couldn’t be undone. There are endless possibilities with sex within a relationship, plus sex is different when love is involved. There are several ways to spice it up and try new things.To each their own, but I personally value monogamy. True love is so hard to come by, I wouldn’t want to risk losing it for a moment of pleasure or satisfying a curiosity.

Absolutely Not! What you have is pure and sex creates feelings. A bond or desire for the other person could develop and cause infidelity. How about the two of you try spicing up your relationship by role playing or trying new things but don’t involve other people.

Personally, no. My husband satisfies my needs and I have never felt the need to experience someone new. But if that’s what you both want and are both TRULY comfortable with the other person being with someone else then I would say go for it. Do what makes you both happy. Just be careful.

I was with my ex for 11 years and had been with each other only. There are many many ways to spice up a sex life that don't involve sleeping with others. Having moved to a new relationship and experiencing sex with others I realised that number of sexual partners does not equal sexual experience or satisfaction. 
It will never be just one time or just sex. You cannot guarantee no emotions will get involved. Are you genuinely that happy if you feel you need others to grow sexually?
Personally surely the next logical step would be to have a shared sexual experience with others instead of separately?

No, definitely not. It’s a rare and lucky thing to have found your lifetime love so early and to have built such a special life together with kids & careers. There’s nothing another dick or pair of tits can do except introduce insecurities, difficulty and dissent into your otherwise trusting relationship. 
If you have genuine feelings about exploring polyamory or swinging etc then there are certainly avenues you can look into to enjoy it safely. But as a one-time thing, the itch really doesn’t seem to need scratching. Do you watch porn together for example, how does it make each other feel when one or the other is aroused by others in a situation where it’s behind a screen? Are there feelings of jealously or vengefulness? Do you have open and honest conversation about your preferences, desires and things you would like to try or have piqued your interests?
If I could take back 99% of the men I slept with in my 20s I would do so in a frigging heartbeat. So maybe my opinion is skewed from that 😂 but there isn’t a single one night stand I’m grateful for having or found it awakened me sexually or emotionally, so to speak.

No I wouldn’t. Neither of you know how you will feel once the other has sex with someone else. Fantasy and reality is so different. You two have built a beautiful life together, I wouldn’t risk any of it just for a small experience. That’s my own opinion.
