Nuvaring

I have been on pill birth control since I was 14. I stopped using birth control at the age of 21. I didn’t have a boyfriend and wanted to stop using the hormones. I quit birth control for a year and and a few months. My periods were normal. No bad side effects from stopping. It was nice.

I got into a serious relationship and we used condoms which was fine but can be expensive so I decided to go back on birth control since it was free to me. I didn’t want to take the pill so I went with the depo shot. I had my first one in April. The first month & 1/2 was amazing no period at all! It was great when June 4th came around I had a Period which the doc said may happen on the first shot. However this period last until I got my 2nd shot July 4th. It was miserable. My doctor said to stick with it. After my shot my period stopped almost immediately. I did not have any spotting until August 30th I started another period heavy and all the PMS signs to. I also by this time had noticed about 7-10lbs of weight gain. I’m a small gal usually no more than 110lbs so it was noticeable. I had a period from August 30th until September 26th and it stopped. Due to getting my 3rd shot. Which stopped the bleeding. I expressed my concern to my physician who I trust greatly. She said by the third round shot everything should be more normal. I had my shot period stopped however not even 5 days later I am bleeding AGAIN! So to put it into perspective. I had 12 weeks of a period. I was exhausted all the time, moody, gaining weight, snappy & depressed. My boyfriend thank god was super supportive but he had his own concerns and our sex life paid for it. He was understanding but so was i. I felt gross and disgusting.

Anyway I visited my Doctor. She suggested the Nuvaring which I was super nervous about. My next shot wasn’t due until dec 12 but since I was still bleeding my doctor said the deli wasn’t working for me like it should be long extended periods should have ended by now. So I’m double birth controlled now 😂

I’ve been wearing the nuvaring for about 2 days now. I can’t tell it’s there. I am currently still bleeding so I have to wear pads 😑

I just wanted to put this out there if anyone has went thru something similar or understands or should I get away from the ring and just take the pill again?? Help!!! Help a girl out!! Seeking advice.
