My family has spent every Christmas together at my aunt’s house since I was born. It’s always a huge deal and a regular tradition. It’s so fun, but it makes for a long- somewhat stressful day.

This is the first Christmas that my fiancé and I will be in our new house (2hrs away from my family) with his son and we are expecting our first baby in February. We both really want to just spend Christmas relaxing, enjoying our time together, and not worrying about driving to see my family.

I’m so worried my family is going to be upset, but I want a change with my little family especially before the baby comes.

Any advice on how to break it to my family that we don’t want to drive down there this Christmas?
