Did you take a birthing/ breathing class while pregnant?

I’m trying to decide whether I want to take one or not. Iv heard from many ladies that they ended up not using any of the techniques. I also plan on doing a natural birth.

We chose bradley and we did a class that wasn't through the hospital a doula taught ours. So helpful!

I read Ina May’s “guide to childbirth” and watched YouTube videos. Plus natural birth videos as often as I could lol. I’m a visual learner so I think those will help me more than sitting in a class listening to someone talk about what it’s like.

Ours wasn't necessarily a breathing class, but she did go over it and gave us some pointers. I really liked our class. She gave us reading material on labor and what to look for and stuff. I read that thing religiously, looking at all my symptoms.

I was so terrified of labour and delivery! Refused to talk about it, think about it or make a birth plan lol
I wanted to just deal with it when we got there! Ended up not going through labour and having a csection so it would've just been a bunch of unnecessary anxiety for me!

My hospital offered a class that just focused on being prepared. There were no breathing techniques discussed because the nurse said everyone is going to do something different. It was still really helpful in preparing me for what is to come and made me feel a little better about giving birth. It also included a tour of the mother and baby part of the hospital, which made me feel more prepared. See if your hospital offers anything.
