If I ran out of pregnancy tests. If I take a ovulation does that still pick up? I’ve heard different things so just asking.

Answer

No they do not work the same. Pregnancy tests detect the hcg hormone while opks detect lh. While you can have high lh levels when pregnant, an hpt would show positive first. Your opk would be blazing positive if pregnant but you can also have an lh surge right before your period starts and get a positive opk. So the only way to know for sure is with a pregnancy test.
