when I was little, around 7 years old, I was a tomboy and very happy being that way. However my mom hated it and told me all the time that “girls don’t get cuts and scrapes” (referring to the fact that is sometimes get a cut when playing with my brothers outdoors) and that I couldn’t partake in boy activities (I wanted to be in JROTC) and she would even force me to wear a purse at 7 bc she said I needed to be more girl-like 🙄 I absolutely hated it and would cry in the store
