I know there's quite a spectrum of options here. I'm just beginning to do research and find what's best for the baby (and myself). :)
What's your standpoint/feeling on it?

If you have no reason to expect complications, there's no particular reason to deliver in a hospital. Simple as that! Hospitals are designed for maladies and problems - you're statistically more likely to have unnecessary interventions in a hospital because that's what they're there to do - intervene! Which is excellent when you need it and not excellent when you don't. ;)

I want a stand alone birthing center but my insurance doesn't cover any. It does cover a hospital that has midwives on service and a small birthing center attached to its maternity ward so that's most likely what I'll be doing.

Having my second there. It depends on the hospital.
