We named our daughter Emilie but call her Emmie. That way she can decide how long she would like to go by our cute little nickname for her but has options for her adult life that sounds more formal.

My name is Emily and I'm 22 and I still go by Emmy my family my nieces and nephews and some friends call me that I honestly couldn't see myself not ever being Emmy. And I plan on naming my first daughter Emmylou and her nickname will either Emmy or Lulu

Not sure exactly how you’d like that pronounced, but..
My name is Emma, and my parents called me Emmie when I was little, as did my doctors, dentist, etc. And I’ve gotta tell you, being called Emmie as an adult to try to get a dentist check up, is a bit cringe-y. I personally think it sounds kiddish. But, if you love it, do it.
