Have you ever lied on your resume?

Ex: moved around employment dates, lied about your skills, old job description 
I had an old coworker that lied about knowing programming language. He was trying to transition to IT. I don’t know what happened to him though.
Bonus question: did you ever get caught

I remember chatting to one of my bf friends & he was an aeronautical engineer but had lied on his resume about prior experience, to get his foot in the door after studying. He was telling me how his new job working on small aircraft was great, pretty laid back & when he’d turn out his pockets at the end of the day to wash his clothes he’d often have a whole heap of nuts/bolts/screws that he had no idea where they were from 😱

They will usually figure it out during and interview if you dont know what you're talking about. Lol

Lying on a resume is a great way to give an employer an easy way to fire you. It isn't worth the time or effort to lie, and frankly if you get caught could make a job in the future harder to get.

I know lots of people say the have a hs diploma when they dont because most employers dont even check. I dont lie cuz im too nervous for what if they ask questions or check and i wonder if it can ruin your rep

When you are >24yrs most of the time jobs aren’t expecting you to have a whole lot of experience or even consistency. If they are looking at you (a young person) they know they are dealing with a young person. For older people lying on a resume might not be too different. I think experience comes with age. Just add that you are a quick learner!

Yeah but I only mix stuff up not add random things I don’t know at all... lol like when I was office aide in high school, I said I was working with Microsoft office when I really wasn’t. I did nothing in that ‘class’ BUT I do actually know how to work everything on MO. So I didn’t lie that I know how to use each program lol
