Irregular bleeding and Dr issues

Alright. So I had my regular period, and a week after it ended I began bleeding again. It started out as very little then progressed to heavy bleeding. This has been going on for ten days now. It’s lightened back up a bit. I went to the Dr today and he assumed that I had messed up taking my birth control. Which I haven’t. However, he didn’t believe me. Then he said it could be caused by stress and that makes sense to me considering that 3 of my family members are dying from cancer so I’m worried about that. Then he retracted what he said to where the blame was placed on me not taking my pills properly. He didn’t run any other test except a pregnancy test. Then he sent me on my merry way. Anyone have similar problems with their cycles, and/or Dr?
