So I found out today (after 3 appointments at the hospital) with my 17 day old at home with his dad... that I have early mastitis. Not a big deal. However, This came after after a bout with latching. I am now pumping and bottle only... it’s been a little bumpy getting to this good spot. My supply of milk finally being rally strong! Only to be smacked in the face with mastitis. For which I need to take an antibiotic that is so powerful I need to pump and dump all of my milk for 6 days. While the alternative of getting full blown mastitis is much worse. And the fact that I caught this early is good. I am really bummed and sad I have to pump and dump (it’s a lot of work) over the next several days. Anyone else in this boat with pump and dump?? I am really down about it. All I want is to give my baby everything!!! And now having to throw my hard work of good milk just for him down the drain is going to be tough. 😖
