License help..

So my drivers license expires next week, and This is the first time I’ve renewed it. I have been married 3 years now and have changed my name on everything BUT my D.L... will I get in any trouble for not changing it sooner?? I live in Maine and it online DMV says that I could have severe problems and/or fines if caught driving with my license with my maiden name. I don’t know why I am JUST NOW learning all this.. i haven’t been pulled over since I was 17, only once, and only got a warning. Has anyone else done this before?
