Flu Vaccine UK
Has anyone had a flu vaccine yet?
I’ve been feeling flu like symptoms since yesterday so called my GP to find out where to get the vaccine but the receptionist told me that because I hadn’t seen the midwife yet I’m not allowed to have it. She said I had to be a certain progression in my pregnancy to be eligible! I don’t even have an appointment with the midwife yet as my GP Practice midwives won’t see you until you are around 10 weeks, which will be mid December.
Waiting over a month to see the midwife then to wait again for an appointment for the vaccine seems a long time when I’m already feeling unwell. The NHS website says you should receive the vaccine at any stage in your pregnancy due to the benefits of being protected & risks of complications with flu while pregnant.
Utterly frustrating!
