Can having a dirty house make your baby sick?

Not going to lie our house is a disaster. I’m trying so hard but I have a 6 month old and am 16 weeks pregnant. Our dishes are out of control. I am trying really hard to sanitize and clean today but my 6 month old doesn’t allow me to do much! Especially now he has a terrible cold! Can a dirty house make you sick??

Depends on if it’s dirty vs messy. Bacteria can easily grow on dirty surfaces. If it’s just things like clothes and toys etc, the likely not.

The place would need to be pretty gross for the house to be making baby sick. If your dishes are getting done by the end of the day/morning,  your floors vacuumed and mopped once a week, your bathroom wiped down periodically, then it's unlikely the house. But of course you can bring viruses home from the store etc,  we make it a habit to keep hand sanitizer in the car and use right away after the store, then at home first thing everyone's shoes off and go wash hands. That's helped a ton. To get chores done, honestly, put baby in a highchair with a show or toys. I do 1 load of laundry a day, 1 load of dishes, and then 1 extra chore like vaccuum, wipe bathroom etc. The house is never clean and organized all at once, but it keeps it from getting gross but not be too exhausting. 
One thing though, if your baby has allergies, constantly fighting allergies can lower their immune system and they can get viruses more easily. I had this issue with my 2nd son.

Someone else said. If it’s messy, not really but if it’s dirty like “I haven’t cleaned with any cleaning supplies”dirty, yes it can get you sick
