Going threw billing first?

I just made my first obgyn appointment and they told me when I come in on Monday I will speak with billing first then I will talk with a nurse that’s it. After that I will make an appointment with the obgyn doctor. Is this normal?

My doctors office has me pay for my entire prenatal care by week 24. They call it global care. Then the hospital bills me separately and so does the anesthesiologist if I get an epidural.

My first appointment was at 9 weeks and I met with billing at the second appointment. My office requires payment in full or a payment plan by the fourth appointment.

Not at my practice. My OB confirms that the pregnancy is viable. Blood test first appt, ultrasound 2nd appt. Then you meet with billing to go over pregnancy cost/insurance.
