Ladies who are working outside of home, who will you let your babies with once your maternity leave is over ?

Just wondering who you would trust baby with if family isn't available etc.

I don’t have family around where I live so I stay home. I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t love my kids the way I do and know my family does.

If family isn't available, i'm staying home. At least until my baby's old enough to talk my preference is to keep him out of a daycare situation,  both for his safety and because of all the germs.  Luckily my mom is retired and lives down the street from me so she'll be watching my son when I go back to work.

We are signed up for a spot with my school district’s early childhood center, but my husband recently switched to night shifts so he will be able to watch her while I’m at work if things go according to plan. Which would be ideal because quality infant care is ridiculously expensive!

I worked at a daycare in Canada,  at one of those best in the province I’m in. I’m still supply teaching there and they charge about 2,000 a month for full time infant care. I worked in the infant full time for 5 years. And honestly, I would personally opt for family or a home daycare for infant care. Once there are over 18 months- 2 years I would go for a bigger daycare to get your child used to a classroom environment. 
The reason I don’t want to put my infant in daycare is because the cost is ridiculous, and most babies spend about half their time at home sick (or they get sent to daycare sick and miserable because their parents can’t miss work). This is usually for the first 6 months of daycare. My daycare is honestly one of the best and cleans toys daily but the kids are close to each other all day (10 infants in one room with 3 teachers) and pass everything back and forth. Personally, I don’t want me kid on antibiotics constantly and to be paying for daycare when they are home sick so much. 
If I was you, I would find a home daycare that people you know and trust recommend, at least for the infant years!

If family isn't available, I'd do a ton of research and ask other moms around you on how their experiences were at different daycares.
