Being a teacher isn't about it being "worth it" it's about really making a difference in children's lives - for some of them you might be the only smiling face they see on a given day. My mom's heart breaks day after day because she can only do so much for her students - but she goes back everyday despite the stress higher ups and law makers put on her, because her students NEED her. And you can make good money, but it depends on where you end up and what you do. Science and math teachers are in high demand, so they're starting rates are higher and private schools aren't dependent on state/area funds to pay their teachers, so they usually have higher salaries there. As for being accredited it depends on your state/country. I had to get a Bachelor's Degree in education, take two federally approved exams and PASS with certain scores, and then be in a classroom for 75 days as a capstone for the Bachelor's and pass the class associated with those days with at least a B.
