Ivf...... worth it?

Question

At 41 years my success rate for ivf is 11.7% each month. Is it worth it or I’m just flushing monies down the drain. I live in BC, canada and ivf is not covered. Looking at $22,000 per round. Still hefty in Canadian dollars. I have three rounds worth of money saved up but ........ appreciate your opinion.

Do you have insurance for coverage on the meds? I was quoted about 6,000.00 for the meds and 10,000.00 for the IVF. Our benefits would cover a large amount of the medication. I just think that would be helpful. 
I honestly think you should go for it. I’m 41 and had a baby almost 11 months ago with only taking clomid. Mind you, it took 28 months to get pregnant. If I have the money for IVF, I’d do it in a heart beat. Beat of luck!!!!!

Hi M!  Have you done any IUI'S or even just an ultrasound to see how many follicles you have in a cycle? That would also give a good idea. Besides, checking your fsh and amh. good luck!!  Dust dust

Do it. Take all those supplements that will help you get good quantity and quality of eggs at least 3 months before you go for it so that you increase your chances of success.

I just googled it as I’ve been curious too about this and , PGS improves pregnancy rates. A genetically normal embryo has a 70% chance of a positive pregnancy test in any woman regardless of age 
Very promising also very hard to get a PGS normal embryo at our age

Do it ASAP after 41 your egg quality decreases even more- or you can consider an IVF in Europe or Latin America if that’s an option - anywhere outside North America is cheaper!!! 
My opinion don’t waste time on IUI we are all different but if you’re doing ART you may as well jump the gun for that one shot
I wonder if the rates go up if you consider PGS testing as most calculations are based on all over IVF results
