Does anyone else get the urge to cough when they lie down?

Ugh. I've also recently been diagnosed with hypertension .. Not sure if it's related

Don't quote me but I feel like I read somewhere or heard somewhere that cough can be related to hypertension. Of course there are many different reasons for coughing but I could swear I heard that was one instance

I have been coughing more when I lie down. I also seem to wake up choking on my saliva a few times when I'm sleeping. It's so weird.

Yes i have been coughing and i think the reason is I open my mouth when I sleep and it dries up my throat and lips. This has started since I got to 30 weeks and congestion in the nose was pretty bad. I could hardly breathe even with 2 pillows under my head. I tried facial steaming but what can i do when the hormone is raging. Anyway strepsils or candies for throat do help.

Yes, but I always thought it was because of my acid reflux. I've learned not to lay down right eating or else I'll start coughing and gagging. I know how to down a few tums, take a long walk, then try and get some sleep.

Yes I start coughing as soon as I lay down. Even though I'm propped up it doesn't matter. Also when I wake up in the morning, I have a coughing fit for at least 10 minutes. It's so annoying

Omg yes. I thought I was the only one with this symptom! So my doctor said it was reflux. Which I thought was strange but she said some people get the urge to cough. She put me on two Zantac a night and it's been better. :) now I think baby has dropped and I haven't had as terrible of a time with it.

Sometimes depending on how I lay it can feel like there's pressure on my lungs. I don't have hypertension.
