bottle weaning

My son will be 10 months on the 14th. So a couple days ago i decided i was going to start “weaning” my LO from his bottle. I legitimately thought It was going to take months, mostly because i see a lot of my friends 2 year olds still with bottles, and now my son hates his bottle he just throws It when i try giving It to him. He wants his sippy instead. I looked on the AAP website and can’t find anything specific. But is It okay for my 10 month old to be using strictly a sippy instead of a bottle?
