What are things YOU should buy for your baby?

My mom keeps telling me not to buy anything cause I’ll be getting a lot at my shower. I don’t wanna wait till the last minute and end up not getting things I will need. I have a crib with mattress right now and my mother in law got me a bunch of clothes and a bassinet. What are things you think the mother should buy and not expect from a shower?

Depends on your family/friends, size of your shower, what you put on your registry, etc. I got tons of stuff at my shower 🤷🏻‍♀️

honestly it depends on how many people are coming to your shower and how generous they are. Usually close family like parents like to get big stuff like a crib or stroller or carseat. Have you made a registry yet? if not, make a registry and whatever people dont buy you can buy right after your shower :)

I'm in the same boat I'm 13 weeks I have only bought a bassinet, we will still need big items but as for little stuff I'm avoiding buying instead Iv been stocking up on supplies we will need the 18 months I'm off that people won't buy because it's not baby related like...
Toothpaste, cleaning wipes, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, my hand creams. things like that

My mom is the only one who bought big items so we bought the big stuff ourself. I got lots of clothes and blankets at my shower but that was about all. I got a few diapers and wipes

We bought all the necessary big items like stroller, pack n play, crib, etc. I’ve had 2 baby showers and most people do not go follow the registry, which is completely fine because I’m not going to complain about anything I get for free lol. A lot of things we still need like bottles, baby monitor, bath stuff were on our registry but not purchased. My advice is to not rely on other people to buy the things you want/need and just start buying whatever you want.

I barely got any big items at my baby shower. People mostly brought clothes, baby shampoo, blankets, diapers, etc. just small things which are helpful and I’m thankful but I had to go buy the rest of the “big items”

I didn’t buy anything but bottles and his pack n play because I didn’t want a crib. And 2-3 newborn outfits only because I really thought he was gonna he chunky
