Did/ do you let your newborn (4 week) sleep in a rock n play overnight?

I’m going crazy. He won’t sleep in the bassinet. He’s outgrowing my chest. And my fiance doesn’t like the fact that he’s bedsharing with us. I just don’t know what else to do. He sleeps pretty good in bed with us. But I don’t like the risks that come with it.
I tried the rock n play last night and that lasted a couple hours then he was back in bed with us. But I’m hesitant to try again because it’s not meant for overnight sleeping.
Any advice?

At 4 weeks it’s very normal for sleep to be almost non existent. Speak with your pediatrician.

But my daughter slept in a bassinet the 1-2 months. Sorry for so many comments! Then onward was a swing it rock and play

It isn't recommended but I had my daughter next to my bed and she wasn't highly active so it worked for us.

My daughter slept in her rock and play until 8 months. It was the only think that worked for us and kept her calm. She liked to be rocked to sleep and had reflux

Never ever. I refused to get one at all. Same with swings. As you said, it's not meant for unsupervised overnight sleep and there's a reason for that. There's just as many risks with a rock n play as there is with bed-sharing. It's not much better. Baby needs to be in a crib, pack n play or bassinet. Their own sleep space with a firm, flat surface.

There are ways to safely cosleep, like using a dock a tot/Snuggle Me in the bed, or other things that you can lay the baby in that has sides to prevent you or your SO from rolling onto them or the blanket/sheet from covering them

I have 4 kids and yes they've slept in the rock n play at that age. It isn't good for tiny newborns, and it isn't good for ones who show signs of rolling over. And baby is in the same room as you. My only advice is to not let it go on to long because the longer you do it, the harder the transition to the crib.
