How was bringing your little one home ?

Hello mommy’s this is to my already mommas. 
First time mom. I’m almost there! I can’t wait. Moms, how was it bringing your baby home and getting ready for their first app? Do tell ! Waking up ? Getting ready ? Getting baby ready ?

Definitely get up early on their first appt if it's in the morning. I never knew how long it took to get a little 7 pound baby ready and we were almost late when we started getting ready an hour before lol. The first couple weeks suck with lack of sleep. I was really a zombie but it'll get better 😊

It’s really nothing difficult. Babies are pretty easy that early on, they mostly just sleep. It was a little nerve racking to realize you’re on your own, but it’s not hard. Just more of a mental adjustment is all. Just take your time to find your own rhythm and don’t try to live up to other people’s standards of what your day to day life should be. That means not comparing yourself to other instagram moms or friends that seem to have it all together.

We just always put ours in sleepers so appointments were easy. Otherwise, just go with the flow.

We were 10 minutes late to his first appointment because he peed out his diaper as I was putting him in the car seat 😂😂😂

Newborns will probably be the easiest phase, they’re usually quiet and sleep basically all the time... my advice is get back to what you were doing before the baby asap so it doesn’t feel like a mega huge change all at once..within reason of course since you’ll still be recovering :) the first appointment was a breeze especially if you have a good doctor

Went well :) we spent a week in the hospital though (due to my health), so we had a pretty good rhythm by the time we got home.

I cried leaving the hospital and I cried a LOT in the first two weeks. I’ve also been sick a lot because breastfeeding has not been going well so I’m trying to phase that out and switch to formula (got mastitis, got antibiotics, had allergic reaction to antibiotics, and still in pain). Try to be flexible with your plans. There have been so many things that I said we were going to do that ended up going out the window and trying to accept that has been difficult for me. I’ve been in survival mode the last 4 weeks and I THINK we’re just now getting a rhythm down.
