OPK -Do they really work?

Question

Has anyone had success with OPK's? I'm really going to try this month.  I've just being going off my CM.  Do they really work? I was three days late.  AF came today.  I need to do something different.  It's unbelievable how disappointed and hurt I feel.  I'm so scared to get tested because I'm afraid of what the doctor might say.  I want to try everything before I got that route.  Please help me😢😢😢

Thank you ladies.  You really helped me today.  Sometimes I feel that I have no one that understands how I feel.  I get tired of the "it will happen" speech from people even though I know they mean well.   I don't understand why it's taking so long and it hurts.  But, with your stories and advice it still gives me hope and I have to continue to have faith.  Baby dust to all of us.

I know how you feel. Been just doing every other day sex especially on most fertile days. Then it still has not worked after 3 months TTC. This time I am leaning towards doing OPK to help us. It's so depressing each time I get AF.

So sorry you're feeling down. I've been there too. I tried for 6 months with just CM and tracking and nothing. The 7th month I added opks and I learned I was ovulating later than I thought. I also started using preseed since my EWCM didn't always line up with ovulation based on the opks. The third month with those two things I finally got a bfp. Good luck to you this month.

I have heard of lots of people getting pregnant with them, my best friend did! I used them 1 cycle but it was a little confusing and I ovulated late. Next cycle I am going to get the more expensive ones that give you a smiley face, I am also tracking cm, cp and bbt. If no bfp this cycle I am covering all bases next cycle!!! Also thinking about trying maca powder or vitex.

I think they are helpful. I've been using them a few months. I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but the days I'm actually ovulating is different than what the apps tell me.... so at least it's letting me pinpoint a specific day. I've been using Clearblue with the smiley faces. I've heard others are too confusing

Yes, between opks, Preseed and Geritol took 1 month to get BFP after having tried for 6 months prior.

I got pregnant after 10 months of ttc. I was only using opk's for a few months before I got a bfp. I found that with opks I didn't O when the apps told me. I O later in my cycle.

It can't hurt & I use cheapies. Easy@home from Amazon.

I've used a few different brands of OPKs (digital, advanced, cheapies from Target) over the last 6 cycles, and find them very helpful. Some cycles my CM and BBT line up perfectly with the OPKs, and other cycles they are a couple days out of sync. My doctor insists the tests are more accurate than CM and BBT monitoring I don't BD, and I've only had one IUI so far, but I do think the OPKs are pinpointing OD better, especially because you can't know when your last day of ewcm will be until the next day.
