I made the child cry. Was I wrong?
I'm a nanny for an 8 year old girl. She is very bossy and has a sour attitude 80% of the time, usually I let it go but not today. I couldn't handle the negative attitude even though I'm the nicest person ever!
She is always on her tablet watching YouTube. (Her mom doesn't regulate her technology time) When I try to get her to paint or play outside, no, technology is far more important! Lately her attitude has gotten so bad I want to quit.
On with my story..
We needed to get somewhere by 9. So I asked her to get ready for me so we can enjoy the beautiful day. I came back 10 minutes later and she hadn't done anything I asked. (Get dressed, brush your teeth and use the bathroom.) After I asked her to get ready again, she acted like she didn't hear me. I may as well be the invisible nanny.
"Okay, give me your tablet since you're not listening." "I don't want to be mean but you need to focus on getting ready, okay?" She cries and fights to pull the tablet from my hands so I put it up high on a cabinet when she wasn't looking. She cried for ten minutes straight. I felt bad but she has a slight addiction to the tablet and thinks she can give anyone attitude, it's not okay.
How would you feel if your nanny made your child cry?
