Winter products?

With winter quickly approaching , what product(s) do you use to keep LO warm? ( ie snow suits, foot muffs, etc)

Wool! Wool closest to the skin, then more layers depending on how cold it is. The the last layer wind proof. Wind proof hat and mittens too, preferably wool as well use a blanket in the car seat. 
Be extremely careful about using a car seat cover as they restricts airflow, and traps co2 and heat. And you can’t see what positions your baby’s head are in,

Two things to consider...
1) What temperatures are we talking? 
I grew up in upstate NY where we get lake effect snow (so like 20ft of snowbanks is normal). Most clothing has a cold index rating if it is actually made for cold weather, boots do too. 
2) How old is your child? 
Babies have different needs then kids on the move. 
Boots: Insulated rubber boots will eventually crack with continual use so actual snow boots are key. Most boots you’ll see for kids have a puffer coat type top, they aren’t warm. I actually have to wear children’s boots since my feet are small and finding ones that are properly insulated is difficult. A lot of parents up north would just go up a size and put on multiple pairs of socks, at least one insulated. 
Boots for Babies: If your child does not “move”, don’t buy boots. Save your money. Put multiple socks on and swaddle the heck out of them. Keeping them close to you and bringing them out as little as possible is key. But if you live there, bring them out so their lungs get used to the brisk air. 
Jackets: here is where waterproofing is important, if they move. They will play in the snow. It’s inevitable. So the jackets with a waterproof layer and a fleece that can be zipped in and out is multi-purpose. That way they can use the waterproof one in the rain and fleece in fall chill. Movability is important as well. Too many layers or too big of a jacket will make it so your kid can not move and are more likely to fall face first in a snowbank because their arms are stuck. 
Jacket for Babies: Having an insulated car seat cover is easiest. It unzips for when you are driving and you can then use a car seat poncho so your carseat’s safety isn’t messed with. It’ll allow heat to stay around your baby so you don’t need to overdress them and risk them overheating or sweating. 
Hats: most of your heat escapes from your head. Always put a hat on, one that covers the ears is best. Ears fingers and toes get cold first when your body is trying to stay warm. 
Gloves: knitted mittens or gloves are nice but not waterproof. They work as a secondary layer though. Waterproof gloves protect nicely when throwing snowballs. These will have temperature ratings. 
Scarves or face masks: unless it’s super cold (like hurts your face) these are a pain to wear. 
Snowpants: temperature rated and make sure they are waterproof.

This type of cover is the only kind they reccomend since itt doesnt interfere with straps at all and is great for winter.

I found some slipper booties, warm sweaters, hats and blankets for the carseat. And one piece suits for when we go on walks.
