I think it’s OK to pursue someone if you are interested in them, but if they are not interested in you back, there should be no chase. In other words, it’s totally fine let them know you are interested in them, but if they don’t act interested in you, that should be your cue to exit.

Why is ok for men to “chase” after what they want but not women? 
I wasn’t interested in my husband until close to a year of being friends but he kept pursuing me. We’ve been married for almost 6 years and have 3 children now.

I think there’s a difference between chasing and acting like you’re interested.
My husband and I flirted for months, but he would never ask me out. I was obviously interested and gave him hints constantly. 
Finally I just asked him out! I was tired of the mind games and flirting. He said yes and that he was nervous to ask me out because he felt like I was just being nice.
Not sure if that counts as me “chasing” him, but I don’t know if we would have even gotten together if I didn’t ask him out!
