Help? Tissue remaining 8 weeks after medically managed miscarriage.

Hi all - I can’t find anything online about this, so hoping someone can share their experience. I found out when I was supposed to be 12 weeks that the baby had stopped growing a little after 8 weeks. The same week I found out I tried cytotec but that didn’t pass anything of substance. Then I had an MVA process and they said all the tissue was retrieved. 8 weeks later and my hcg was dropping slowly so they had me come in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound confirmed there was still tissue in my uterus. I tried cytotec again this weekend but nothing. I’m guessing they will suggest a d&c when I go in Monday.

So I am wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. If so, how long after the subsequent d&c did it take to get your period? How was recovery? I have been waiting 8 weeks for everything to go back to normal and to find out now that I still have retained tissue in there is killing me. Thank you all. Even if you don’t have an experience like this, let this post be a reason to trust yourself. I wanted an ultrasound earlier but my dr made me feel stupid for wanting one since this was “totally normal after an MVA”. Clearly not.
