St Tropez self tanner ?

I'd feel silly calling my doctor to ask this, do you think using self tanner (the lotion kind) would be safe to use? I got a bottle of St Tropez self tanner in my Birchbox this month and I'm not sure if this is a product I should pass along to a friend or not. What do you think... safe to use or don't risk it ?

You can use self tanner. I still do and did with my son too. They recommend not getting a spray tan because of the chemicals etc but even still arent sure on that either. 
I use st tropez still :)

I read an article somewhere about once your pregnant, your skin will likely react differently to spray tans and lotions. I'm not sure how true this is, just that I read it.

I know that doesn't help.. lol. But it is kind of a start, maybe?
