Twins?

Question

I seem to see quite a few women posting they are having twins. I didn’t think twins were very common. For those that have had twins or are currently pregnant with twins, what is your story? Do twins run in either side of the family? Did you undergo medical assistance to conceive? Curious to know 😊 as I would love to be expecting twins but I highly doubt that’s going to happen.

Twins must run on the maternal side. Random twins is pretty rare.

Twins run on my husbands side. None the less we were completely surprised.

8 weeks +3 with di/di twins. Conceived via ivf. Went through two rounds. First round did a total of 3 transfers. Got pregnant the second transfer but lost it before 7 weeks and before getting to see a heartbeat. Second round started off with a fresh transfer. Doctor decided we should put two embryos in this time to up our chances. Low and behold both stuck. We never wanted to try for twins, as we heard twin pregnancies are very hard on your body. It was just fate that they both ended up sticking ❤ and let me tell you I'm only 8 weeks 3 days and have already had a multitude of problems. Twin pregnancies arent easy and I probably would never try to do it on purpose, but now that I have two little babies inside me I cant imagine anything different.
