Have you ever felt taken for granted?

Question

I treat my SO like a king. I cater to him, cook, clean, anything he wants. What do I get in return? Rejection on a daily basis.  It's getting to the point where we have talked it through the ground and nothing has changed. I am losing hope. Has anyone else felt this way or is right now? What did you do? Will he ever change?

I really recommend the Five Love Languages... There is a book but also plenty of info online about it. You should both try to figure out what your individual love languages are and then try to show your love to the other using THEIR love language. I am a major talker and I need to have conversations with my husband to feel like we are good and my husband is NOT a talker. But now he really makes an effort to just talk to me about random dumb things or write me notes or tell me jokes and I love it and I know he is really trying. At the same time I realized that he NEEDS physical touch (beyond sex). Since I am not a physical touch kind of gal, it had always bothered me that he would try to rub my back or feet or something when I don't even like that stuff, but then I realized that that was HIS way of showing me he loves me. So now I actually like it because I know what it means, and I make sure that I greet him with hugs and kisses and give him little butt slaps and back rubs or things as simple as making sure my feet touch his on the couch instead of being all Oscar the Grouch in my own personal trash can like I would like to be, haha. Other love languages are Service, Gifts, and something else I forget. Good luck!

I feel the way  often. My husband has no problem going to work and doing things he wants to but when it comes to family and helping me at home he doesn't have time..

I feel like it sometimes but not all the time. If he was taking me for granted allllllll the time I would leave. I'd deserve better. But communication is important. I feel like my relationship with my SO has improved a lot since I had a serious and adult conversation with him

My x treatd me that way, and it got worse when I found out I miscarried. Our relationship was over within the month and Im now the happiest girl in the world with my DH!

I get like this sometimes. I do alot for my fiance. Buy him things. Give him money when needed. Cook, clean. But sometimes I don't feel appreciated I never get anything from him. He cooks for me sometimes but sometimes I'd like flowers or a gift to show you appreciate me or you thought of me. Ehhh
