V-bac option???

Ok let me first start out by saying the first birth was not so normal and ended with emergency c-section. It was super intense and scary, I don’t really remember a lot because I was so exhausted from the pain of labor and lack of sleep. I woke up alone in a hospital bed after surgery which scared the hell out of me! Turns out the nurses had my baby while I was resting. Now that I am pregnant again my obgyn says I have the option to have vaginal birth this time but I am completely on the fence because I could have lost my son the first go around due to embilical cord wrapped around his neck. I’m wondering if it would be easier to just go in have baby out and be done with it??? Any advise ladies

Hey!! When i get pregnant again, I will be going for a vbac! There are so many benefits to having a vbac rather a c-section. Quicker recovery, less painful recovery, immediate skin to skin, better for baby and mama! I would go for a vbac, especially if you are wanting to expand your family past your next baby! The risks for pregnancy goes up with every c-section!

I know this is an unpopular opinion but 💁 I don't give a damn and will give you my honest opinion and experience. My first baby was a home birth with a midwife. Labor and delivery went ok, she did get stuck twice but everything still happened in under 6 hours. My 2nd I was determined to have another natural birth and instead got an unplanned C-section because he was so wrapped up in the cord that he was strangling himself. Now after having both kinds of births and both kinds of recoveries I will be opting for a planned C-section. There is a .1% increased chance of complications for me BUT there are less chances of losing this baby or having a uterine rupture or me needing general anesthesia. I personally feel like my recovery from the C-section was WAY easier than from the home birth and I don't ever want to go through labor again if I don't have to. There's all this shame surrounding birth like if you don't try for a natural delivery you're being a selfish jerk but really just do what you want and what you feel is best for baby. For me that's a 2nd C-section. Good luck momma!

Just my personal opinion, if I were in your situation I would schedule a c-section. I had a scheduled one (for medical reasons) and it went wonderfully and I thoroughly enjoyed my birth experience. I have heard scheduled ones are WAY better than emergency ones. But that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️I had one because I didn’t want to risk my baby’s health and life. If I experienced what you did, I wouldn’t think twice. But i have also heard a lot of great VBAC stories so if your doc is supportive I’m sure it can be done 😊 praying for the best for you and your baby ♥️

I understand your dilemma. My first son was born vaginally, but he had the cord around his neck twice. His head was also crushed due to 24 hours in labor. He ended up in the NICU for a week due to meconium aspiration,  crushed head and jaundice. Later he had to wear a helmet to reshape his head.
My second was born after about 16 hours of labor, by emergency csection when his heart rate dropped too many times. He had the cord around his neck 3 times and would not have survived normal delivery. During the emergency csection the doctors lost a sponge, and had to search for it, including an ultrasound, leaving me open for nearly an hour and causing a massive amount of air to be let into my body, which was painfil to recover from. But his head was so very perfect.
Last year I  miscarried twins, and ended up delivering naturally at home, because it happened so fast, and I was only 15 weeks. But it made me think that I might manage a vaginal delivery again.
Now I am expecting again, 33 weeks, and have the same options. I am terrified of the cord being around her neck. I'm terrified of the pain recovering from the csection. Though I'm told scheduled csections are much better than emergency ones.
Thankfully, I've been diagnosed with preeclampsia, and my doc intends to schedule a csection for 37 weeks. So unless she comes earlier than that, my decision has been made for me.

I’m pregnant 7.5 years after my twins were born via scheduled csection. I am going to attempt a vbac. Fingers crossed

I'm pregnant with my second. I had a csection with my first and labored for over 48 hours dilated to a 5 and ended with a csection which I was super upset about but I was exhausted. But this time I want to try and do a vbac also. Do what you feel is best and if the doctor thinks you're a good candidate than go for it.
