Does anyone have any tips or anything to help me through the next 8 months? My fiancé is deploying overseas for 8 months and I’m not really sure what to expect. My father deployed to Iraq when I was younger and in the early 2000’s, so a lot has changed since then. Is there any contact besides emails? Can I send him care packages? He doesn’t know much either as he’s been on leave and hasn’t been briefed yet and I doubt he’ll let me in on much to keep my anxiety from getting out of control.
