SA “normal” despite low concentration??

Please help me understand 😭
RE says husbands SA is normal and no additional testing is needed. But his concentration is 11M/ml. That seems so low, especially for natural conception.
What do you ladies think?? Did your dr tell you something similar??

Also this SA was done with 7 days of abstinence

I’m always confused with the concentration part. But 7 days of abstinence is a long time. We’ve been told by two different doctors and two different labs that it should be no more than 5 days and no less than 2. The longer abstinence can impact sperm count.

Concentration refers to how many sperm per ml of semen, which is different than total overall count. More mls of semen essentially ‘dilute’ the sperm count and can make it look low. If you have an overall sperm count of 100 million, if you were to look at it per ml it can skew things. Ex:
If you have 1.5 mls semen (which is the low end of average produced), you’d have a concentration of 66.7million/ml. 
If you had 7 mls of semen (the high end of average produced) it would show as 14.2 million/ml. 
Your overall count however, is still the same.
