What complications did you have during pregnancy?

I just had my blood work sent off and was wondering what results could come back? Like gastronomical diabetes or thyroid problems? Ect... What was the outcome? How did you feel? How were you treated?

Answer

They don't test for gestational diabetes until about 6 months. Not sure how far along you are but they usually test your hemoglobin, white blood cells... Normal stuff. Then they test your maternal serum for anomalies in baby, these are just indicators and are not always accurate it can help determine if further testing is needed. They test your beta hcg and whatever else you consent to such as HIV or some STIs. I would ask your nurse when they take the blood or at your next app what they are testing it for, you have the right to know :)
