RSVP do you do it?

Question

So my last party I decided to put 'please RSVP so that we know if you can attend or if you can't then we will have room to invite someone else. Thank you for your RSVP by ________

Barely anyone RSVPd in the past I have only had one or two RSVPs but this time I got maybe 10/100.. Not including everyone I called after the RSVP date.

What's your policy?
I always RSVP as soon as I can.

Is there a different way to say it to actually get responses?

When I get a invite i rsvp even if they don't send or ask for it...figured it would be nice or thoughtful since they paying for it...i expect the same from them as well

When we sent out our 200 wedding invitations I sent an RSVP card, self addressed, self stamped, all they needed to do was mark a box, put the card in the envelope and put that in the mailbox. 
We got MAYBE 30 back... I wouldnt even say that many.

I always RSVP as soon as I get the invitation. Wheather I can go or not, I always send it back letting them know.  It is good manners and courteous.

I'm not sure why people don't RSVP!

I have always sent one back! Why can't others be courteous and just send it back to me!?!

For my wedding we sent out 100 invites, they were self stamped for returns with a paid postage stamp!. I got maybe 30 back and the rest didn't get back. I even had people show up that didn't rsvp, luckily I pre paid for 50 meals, and no more than 50 showed up.

But how much effort does it really take to check a box, put it in the envelope and mail it?!?

for my baby shower i suggested to rsvp by phone/text to the host (my mom) and i'm expecting a really good amount of responses as that way takes the least amount of effort

I always let them know as soon as possible if I will or won't make it, it's rude not to.

If I see that people need an RSVP, I send an RSVP. Usually if I can see that it's at a venue where they'll be counting it per head, I make sure to RSVP ASAP.

I always RSVP as soon as I can. I hate when people don't RSVP and show up or when they do RSVP and don't show up without any word! This just happened at my baby shower, it's so frustrating.

I'm pretty disorganised so I often don't RSVP. However since people have started asking for RSVP by email instead of posting back an RSVP card I always RSVP immediately before I forget.
