Using prefolds as wipes?

Good? Bad? Thoughts? 
My parents are gifting us a couple months of cloth diaper service (prefold pick up and drop off). We have no washer or dryer at home. Would ordering the larger amount of prefolds and using the extras as wipes work ok? I would prefer to streamline our process and avoid buying additional wipes that we would have to bring to the laundromat or disposables if possible.

Definitely buy some cloth wipes. They are super easy to wash by hand and hang dry. Once in a while wash them at the laundromat.

I wouldn't be able to get in crevices well enough with a bulky prefold. Seems wasteful too.
I would buy cloth wipes, use them for pee changes only, and rinse by hand before adding to your own normal clothes laundry. For poop changes, just use disposable wipes.

They’re so heavy and bulky. In my opinion, it’s worth it to buy wipes. You go through a lot of wipes. They’re cheaper then prefolds. They’re less bulk and easier to store and bring in a diaper bag. It just makes logical sense to me to invest in the wipes.
