How much money for first ultrasound?

How much money does it cost to go to the dr to get your first ultrasound? I am only 17 years old and I don’t want my parents knowing yet. Is it too much money?

For me it was about $800-900 but, my insurance covered it and I only have to pay the co-payments which is only $20 a visit it isn't bad. I advise you tell your parents so it won't be expensive and you'll be covered.

You need to come clean and tell them you obviously don’t understand how medicine and doctors appointments/ billing works. 
You will have to bring your insurance card to your doctors appointment, an ultrasound doesn’t have a price because every insurance plan is different. BUT with that being said it is NOT FREE, you just don’t know how much it will cost until you are billed a few weeks later. An ultrasound from a doctors office is going to cost a lot more than one you pay out of pocket at a ultrasound boutique (DO NOT SKIP OR CANCEL YOUR PRENATAL APPOINTMENT, It’s very important you see a doctor)and so will all of the blood work, urinalysis and vag smear tests. I have GREAT insurance and it still cost us out of pocket $390. Some doctors can refuse to see you if you are still under 18 without the accompany of a parent (not all BUT there are some). Also the bill from the doctors office is going to be sent to your home, like I said it’s better to just tell your parents now before they find out themselves. On top of that most OB clinics send welcoming letters from the facility once you let them know you are pregnant, telling you about what doctors are currently accepting patients, prenatal care instructions etc. 
As a a younger expecting mom myself (19 and a sophomore in college) I was afraid to tell my parents as well but there is no way in fucking hell my boyfriend and I could have done this without the support from my family. I too was going to wait to tell my mom until I was further along but I’m REALLY glad I decided to make the mature move to tell my mom. We already had a plan in place so that helped when telling her, my mom was honestly disappointed for like a few hours and ever since then she has been extremely excited.

If you are pregnant you can sign up for temporary Medicaid until you can get the real thing and it’ll cover medical expenses
