Any Stay at home moms sell on Etsy??

Im trying to make extra money for my little one. Even an extra $200 a month would be wonderful. Im pretty crafty, but don’t know what would sell on there. What are some good startup ideas. Willing to spend up to $500 on items needed to start it. Are there any fees? What’s some good tips to be successful when starting an Etsy shop?

If you do, think of something unique. If you have an idea search for it on Etsy and see how many sellers there already are, because Etsy is already pretty over saturated. Etsy gives the top listing spots to seasoned sellers, even if you have great key words. So you, as a new seller, will probably be page 14 or so and rarely be seen by buyers. Id suggest selling on apps like Mercari.

If you want to sell crafts you'd probably make more selling at craft fairs and farmers markets than etsy. You have to pay for a booth but usually I sell out so it's worth it. Etsy is honestly the worst and you usually end up losing more than you gain.

Each listing costs 20 cents. And Etsy takes I think 3-5% of whatever you make. I haven’t had much luck with it. I do candles
