Best books for men?

The men in my family surprisingly are into books this year and want them for Christmas.

My dad loves the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo book series and I was wondering if anyone knew a series similar he would probably like as well?

And my boyfriend told me he wants something that is a true story.

I think they both would also like History related books because they both love the history channel.

But I’m clueless here. Any suggestions?
