How did you know that you were done having kids?

We have three kids and have always only wanted three kids but I miss being pregnant & cant imagine never being pregnant again but I also can’t imagine having four kids. 😞

Lol I’m pregnant with baby #2 and girl, I just know I never wanna be pregnant again. It’s been the worst. The first 12 weeks was non stop
Throwing up, then I experienced fatigue. Lol I Am Done!!

We have 2 and my husband is getting his vasectomy Friday. Lol Our girls are 5 years apart. We never wanted kids close in age. We didn’t know we wanted a second for a while. I love being pregnant too. I don’t want anymore kids though. I don’t miss the newborn stage, no sleep, my pp body...now that my kids are 2 and 7, it’s great! They’re more independent and I’m not nursing anymore (which I loved too) and I’m happy with our family, it feels complete.  Financially, as a sahm we are comfortable as well. We aren’t “stretched”.  They have their own rooms which is important to us too. I can’t imagine having another 4-5 years from now! I’m looking forward to us and our girls growing together and doing family stuff as just us 4! Our hearts are fulfilled! ☺️

I am almost 3 weeks postpartum with my second. I honestly thought throughout my entire pregnancy that I was done having babies. I love being pregnant and I’ve had 2 very normal easy pregnancies along with 2 healthy babies (with the exception of a small thing with my newborn that we’re keeping an eye on for now but it’s not life threatening). I love the newborn stage too, as crazy as that might sound. 
With all that being said, I signed the paperwork to get my tubes tied, supposed to schedule the procedure anytime now. I’m having major second thoughts, which I did not expect for multiple reasons. First, my husband is for sure done having kids, he has 3, two are with me. Second, I’m really too old to have more.
I hope I can get my emotions and doubts under control because birth control isn’t an option for me.

For me, I wanted three kids. Then my daughter was born following a healthy pregnancy with some serious health issues. She was born with laryngomalacia, which is a potentially deadly airway defect. She was mild, but going through that and watching her almost starve to death due to the feeding issues it causes (before she was diagnosed) was enough to make me say two. Now I'm pregnant with my second, way more stressed than I ever was with my first, and he had a ton of health scares already. I know that as much as I love babies, I can't go through another 40 weeks of this uncertainty and fear. It's all good now and he's healthy, but even just waiting and being off my depression and anxiety meds is just too much to deal with for so long.

My husband and I decided that if our third after two girls was a boy we would be done, and it was a boy. I felt done up until him turning about 6 months and then I just couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was missing. He’s 18 months now and we’ve decided to go with our gut and have another, I’m praying that I’ll have that complete feeling after this one!

I knew I was done due to how absolutely rough this pregnancy has been. I was in an accident (spun out on black ice and ended up under a semi)  2 years ago & it has made everything so much harder. I always wanted to have more children but it is so rough on my body now.

Pregnancy is too much of a risk to my health & I feel selfish that I could be possibly killing myself & taking away my kids mom just to have another child .... that’s what made me come to the conclusion that I’m done having kids after this baby.

That’s what I’m wondering too! I’m currently 8w with #3 and it’s almost heartbreaking to think that this may be my last! 😭
SO does want 4 but I’m not so sure about that. I don’t know that we could or that I would even want to handle 4 but at the same time, it makes me sad to think that we would be closing a chapter in our lives if this is our last.
I have thought about the possibility of being a surrogate in the future but I would only do it for close family or friends so that I could still have a relationship to the child but not as a parent. Idk if that make sense 🤷🏻‍♀️
