First appointment

I went in for my first appointment today. Brought the husband along, read online and in books as to what to expect. Get to the appointment. They do a urine test to confirm, paperwork is given, pelvic exam, and that was it. No bloodwork, no ultrasound, no Doppler. I have to go back for bloodwork in a separate appointment and schedule an elective out of pocket ultrasound. Did anyone else experience this? I should have asked specifically what to expect but everyone seems to be ‘by the book’ for first appointments.
