Still bleeding?

The day before Thanksgiving we got the news our baby’s heart had stopped beating. My body never recognized the loss and I had no true warning sign or cause for concern so I had a d&c last Monday, November 26th. I saw my ob for a follow-up this Monday but I am still bleeding. I know it’s different for everyone but how long did those who have experienced this bleed for?

My body went into labor November 26th, and I gave birth to my son that evening. I had no idea what was happening until he was in my hand. I had an emergency D&C at like 2:00am Tuesday morning (November 27th) because I didn’t and couldn’t birth the placenta and it was causing my body to get sick already (not because of infection, but because it was still providing blood flow to the placenta with no baby attached). I had my follow up with my doctor today, and I’m still bleeding. It ranges from dark brown to light red, and he said it’s normal. I was recommended to be on birth control to force my body to normalize itself again and stop the bleeding sooner, and since I’m against birth control (did research and decided not to opt for this contraceptive method) and chose to naturally recover, he said I could bleed for 4-6 weeks following.
I completely agree with you, my 13 weeks was nowhere near long enough. I’m selfish and want a whole lifetime. However, I’ll forever be grateful to be that little boy’s mommy and to have been blessed with those 13 weeks with my Caden Michael, and to be able to hold him. 💙

I went into labor on 11/22/2018 (thanksgiving) and my son Liam was born sleeping around 4:30 pm. I was 22 weeks along. Luckily I was able to birth the placenta without having a d&c but I bled for about 13 days. The last 2-3 days the bleeding has all but stopped except for a little spot here or there randomly. I am so sorry for you loss. I know exactly how you must be feeling. You will be blessed with a beautiful rainbow baby very soon. Keep faith. 🌈

I personally bleed for almost 2 weeks not super heavy but did bleed and I'm so sorry for your loss
