Currently 36weeks & just had my check up, 
Baby is head down, very low, & I am 2 1/2 CM Dilated, 50% Thinned .. does this mean baby is coming soon? 
First time mommy over here, so not exactly sure what to expect.. please help..

You could be going into labor now or you could go into labor in a few hours, days, or weeks. Every woman and pregnancy is different. My last baby was head down and low since 32 weeks and I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced for over 4weeks. In fact, at my 37 week apt (on a Thursday) my OB said it will probably be another few weeks or so before baby comes. That Saturday I went into labor and delivered my baby early Sunday morning. So be prepared for a sudden labor and delivery, be mindful of what your doing as to not put you or baby at risk (like going on a trip far away) and pay attention to what your body tells you. I had contractions all day Saturday but didn’t think it was active labor because they were 5-10min apart and didn’t change in intervals. When I finally got to L&D triage, they said I was already 7cm dilated and I was still only having contractions every 10min or so. So all that to say, the standard protocol for knowing when your in active labor is just a “guideline” or “reference”. It never hurts to be overly cautious and call if you think your in labor.
