If i ask a guy out I don’t mind paying if he asks me I expect him to pay but i will offer towards it, never once has a guy let me pay though. 
I think I’d be a bit offended if he did, ive been brought up to believe that a true gentleman never lets a lady pay which is old fashioned to say the least. I think Its rude of me not to offer to pay towards it though.
