Second baby shower?

So I’ve always debated this. I was raised being told it’s somewhat frowned upon to have a second baby shower. I’m pregnant now with a boy and when I have him my daughter will be 3 and a half years old. We don’t have anything for a boy and the only baby things we have left are a swing and a high chair. My MIL said she wants to throw me one anyways. I don’t want anything crazy like the first one, but something causal. Maybe a diaper party/baby shower in one. How do you guys feel about it?

People should do what they want. Especially if your MIL wants to throw it. Just tell her you want to keep it casual and anyone who has an issue with it can kick rocks. 🤷‍♀️

My friend was in the same situation.  She has an almost 3 year old boy and just had a baby girl.  They had no girl stuff.  Her family threw her a “sprinkle” instead of a baby shower.  It was really cute.

Throw one! I didnt have one for my second nugget because it’s a girl - already have a girl - and I don’t need anything at all. I’m feeling overwhelmed with stuff everywhere. But if I were having a boy or if I didn’t have anything I’d def throw one

I’ve never heard that it’s tacky to have more than one. All the women in my family have one for each baby. You need less obviously after #1 but it doesn’t mean you don’t still need stuff! I will have one this time around (baby #2) but it’ll be more casual. I’m only putting things like diapers, wipes, gripe water, etc and things I didn’t use with #1 that I’d like for #2. Every baby is worth celebrating :)

My first two were separated like this and I had one. They were the same gender but I needed so much.
